Why put this on after Slopestyle? And if you must put it on on the Sunday, why put it on at the same time as Garbo DH? How the hell am I expected to take photos of two events at once?
Besides, after watching the Slopestyle the albeit huge jumps of the redbull hits look minor in compar

        Controversial...
So you run what is becoming a world famous race, with probably nearly as many spectators as a round of the world cup - you'd think you'd be able to afford some tent pegs. Why? To stop the start tent blowing away and screwing up everyones times!

        So

        07/29/06

Slopestyle, probably the most spectator friendly mtb discipline, lots of it set up high so everyone can see, youre close to the riders and the riding is jaw droppingly impressive (or 'off the hook' as Dave would say....)

Lopes rocked A-Line with Cedric coming in second, Bryn Attkinson rocked in 3rd for GT.

Some other people podiumed in other categories, but Crankworx havent updated their site, so who knows where and who..

too hot, so off to the lake it was for some rope swing action.

crankworx kicked off today, the hill was suprisingly empty considering it was practice for the canada cup. one would imagine tomorrow will be busier.

Rained today, pretty hard. Town was dead in the am, most people rolled out to practice for Phat Wednesdays A-Line race late afternoon. It was just like riding back home. A-Line was good and grippy, no more dusty slidey corners, but still the tracks pretty blown out and needs some work.

Since Pete left things have calmed down somewhat, less alcohol more riding. Hands are taking a pounding the last couple of days, even a-line gives um some stick. The Jacuzzi we poach helps til the next day. Thats a point, if youre in Whistler keep and eye out for pools and hot tubs you can invade

So been here a month now, so much has happened, broken bikes, hangovers, new mates, old mates, new tricks, old dogs, all good.

Pete leaves today, so up until today the tally stands at -

        1 snapped frame
1 bent pair of Super T's
        1 mashed Saint rear brake - s

Took a trip out of town today, rode the park this afternoon, got up at 1ish as per usual so got a few 'banzo runs in. Rolled out to Yoda's Playground out past vista lake. 45 mins push up whatever mountain it is. Well worth it though - the steepest, loosest, tightest beginning to a trail
