Once in the spring of 2006 a man known by the name Jamie sold his worldly belongings and decided to make the voyage to Whistler for the summer because he figured life was too short to be stuck in a dead end job 6 days a week where he was not appreciated one iota.
Whistler was 3 weeks away and he had enough money to last a month, two at the most, with flights booked for three. He had pretty much sold everything that wasn’t bolted down already, right down to the spares he would need for his bike while he was over there.
The summer began and no sooner had it started it almost ended, for Jamie took a tumble and blew his spleen out of his belly. Jamie turned his attention towards this here website and began documenting the summer of 2006 in Whistler through the lense of his camera and the nib of his pen (well his laptop anyway).
Eventually the time came for Jamie to return to the old land. But what of the website? In step a bunch of reprobates Seb, Sam, Ben and Adam who had also moved to Whistler to find out if the stories about the trails being made of gold were true. Jamie was understandably wary, but gave them the key anyway knowing that he could still pull the plug if the worst came to the worst.
Whistlerdiaries.com is here to document and record for prosperity the ongoing bicycle stunting shenanigans and goings in Whistler and attempt to place it within the context of the wider biking community and even within ‘real’ life.
What began as one mans blog of his adventures in wonderland has become the tarded looking glass through which anyone can spy into Whistlerington, Canadiashire.
